Full circle
Our final day with the scooter started with a magnificent sunrise over the mountains and clear blue sky. We had designed a route which would allow us to do the one pass we missed the first time round - Sustenpass. Being a Sunday, the roads were packed with day trippers - mostly motorcycles, only a few cars and surprisingly - quite a few scooters.
Sustenpass is yet again a stunning, exciting windy road with waterfalls and old stone bridges and breathtaking scenery. We stopped at the summit with 100 other motorcycles and as we were on top of a mountain surrounded by snow, we bought Toblerones for morning tea. Rather fitting don't you think?
We completed 2 more minor passes on our way back to Bern arriving at Sabine's house at 5pm. It was such an unusually hot day for Switzerland and Sabine immediately bundled us off to the swimming pool to cool down. I opted for a snooze in the shade but Sabine and the BOSS braved the cool water. We had a great barbeque for dinner and crashed out for a good night sleep.
