Unleashed
Took Henry out without any bags and gave him a damn good run in the lovely back country roads. The rain was threatening and the temperature had dropped so I layered up before heading off. I even turned the heated grips on!
Headed over to Domfront which is a lovely Medieval town perched on the top of a hill. The Chateau was a ruin but the houses in town were still original. I rode on to Mortain where they have a great Municipal Campsite in the middle of town overlooking the cascades. These Municipal campsites are dotted all over France and cost about 2€ a night. They have great facilities and hot showers maintained by the town council. I haven't stayed at one yet but I'll certainly be looking out for them in the future.
The sun came out and I stripped off layers. Came back through Bagnoles-de-l'Orne which is a very pretty "spa" town. It's Sunday so it was overrun by tourists. I had a brief look around and got back on the road. Clocked up about 180kms and Henry behaved beautifully. The bar-end still needs adjustment as it sometimes catches on the throttle. When I got back to Su's place, Bob found some washers in his shed and we fixed the bar-end up tight. Su cooked me another lovely dinner and the hospitality of these guys is just wonderful. Feeling really relaxed and enjoying their company immensely.
The weather is still iffy and black clouds keep rolling through.
