Rocamadour

Rocamadour, Midi-Pyrénées, France
Sunday, June 24, 2012

I love the sort of morning where you just bum around and all of a sudden you discover it's lunchtime and you haven't really done anything. I needed a day off so for most of it I sat under the tree in the garden and played on the computer until the battery ran out.

I went down the road 5kms to visit Rocamadour. Apparently it's the second most visited touristy spot in France because it's a Medieval town built into the side of the mountain.

And boy! was it touristy!!

Every shop sold cheap Chinese crap. There were a few shops which attempted to sell genuine artisan products but they were swallowed up by the "disneyland" atmosphere - along with the charm of the town.

I quickly retreated to the shade under the tree at La Noyeraie.
