Rinse and Repeat

Bédouès, Languedoc-Roussillon, France

After telling the guys what a wonderful road I had taken yesterday, they decided to do the same route again today. I didn't mind too much and it would give me a chance to see what they were like for group riding.

We set off around 9am and stopped at Le Pont de Montvert again for a coffee and croissant and then retraced the same roads. I should have suggested a clockwise route and then at least I would have had a slight variation. Never mind. I was still as wonderful as yesterday and the view from the top of Belvedere des Bouzedes even clearer.

We stopped in Villefort to try to get something to eat but the restaurants were all closed and the one hotel that was open said they were full.

We continued on further and found a nice little café which did steak and chips for all the boys and salad for me.

We decided to stick to the main road instead of doing my "difficult and dangerous" road - and what a mistake that was. Going into a big town and getting stuck in the traffic in 29o heat was no fun at all.

The last 30 kms into Florac is a hoot. It's downhill all the way with tight twisties and quite steep. Again good practice for my left-handers. Just as you are thinking you must have finally reached the bottom after 20kms of steep downhill run, you catch sight of the gorge below and realise you are only halfway down. Great road!!
