Recouping energy
I have been on the road for two months now and these last five days in Bern have been pure luxury. Sabine is such a great host and we've had a fabulous time catching up. I have a wonderfully comfy bed and am fed lovely dinners every night. I have clean clothes and have disgorged the entire contents of my bags from one end of the room to the other.
I spent the day sorting every single item and culled a massive 3kgs to send back to Oz - once I get to Germany as it's 1/4 price as postage in Switzerland. I have actually used everything I brought with me but now that the weather is warmer and I won't be doing anymore high passes, I can ditch some of the warm clothes and souvenirs.
One thing I would consider bringing next time is a small camp chair. The ground is a long way down and very uncomfortable when you have a dodgy knee.
I had such a wonderful lazy day - I even turned the TV on.
