Ace Café

Sharpthorne, England
Wednesday, August 22, 2012

Met up once again with Ian from Bike Club France and we went to the Ace Café.

This place is an institution with British bikers - built in 1938, it was bombed during the war and then rebuilt during peacetime. It was huge with the Mods and Rockers during the sixties and the place it full of photos and information from that era.

There was a photo shoot happening as we arrived but we stayed long enough for a (very lame) burger and coffee. We caught up with all the news and then I had to head back to Sharpthorne before the afternoon rush hour hit.

Being a member of Bike Club France and meeting and staying with all the fabulous people living in France made all the difference to my French experience. I will be forever grateful to: Ian and Laura, Kate and Martin, Su and Bob, Dave and Wendy, John, Ron and his family, Julie, Sharky and their tribe, Jenn and James and the whole crowd from Rocamadour (what a hoot!!), all the boys from the Tarn, and last but not least Mike and Christine!
Thankyou all for your fabulous hospitality!
