Sneak Peek

Bullecourt, Nord-Pas-de-Calais, France
Sunday, April 22, 2012

The main reason for this trip to France is to attend the opening of the Bullecourt Museum on Anzac Day. We snuck in today so that we could have a poke around before the crowds come on Wednesday.

Bullecourt is very special to my family as Bert, one of the four brothers who went to WWI, was killed here in May 1917. He has no known grave but his name appears on the Villers-Bretonneux wall to the missing. Last time Margaret and Steve were here, we had had a plaque made and had it attached to Le Petite Croix which is placed opposite the field where Bert was killed.
