Visiting Freddie
No mountains today - I promise.
I awoke to the sound of rain and retreated to the kiosk for breakfast. A good coffee and a dreadful croissant - 6€!
Loving the quiet lakeside park and loving Switzerland! Real toilets with real toilet paper - and soap and paper towels. Waiters that aren't crabby and drivers who stop at pedestrian crossings.
I have decided to have a day off the bike and rest my body - particularly the poor tendons in my hands from all the downhill braking.
The rain cleared pretty quickly so I went into town and wandered along the waterside. The Jazz Festival spectators hadn't woken so the quayside was practically deserted.
I've come here to visit Freddie Mercury - as I am quite a fan. As I was standing there taking photos, a young American girl, Michelle, asked if I would take her photo. We got chatting and she's very much a Queen fan and knew all the goss about the band and the memorial day etc.
I had lunch in a lovely café on the main drag - all you can eat buffet. By this time all the tourists had roused themselves so I retreated to Vevey which was beautifully quiet. I visited the Alimentarium - The Food Museum! Excellent exhibits.
